Gemini Web MCP Setup

Connect Gemini Web to Plushcap through Gemini Spark with OAuth.

Gemini Web

Gemini Web has limited custom MCP support through Gemini Spark. It is not currently a general Gemini chat feature.

Current availability

Google currently requires:

  • Gemini Spark access.
  • A personal Google Account rather than a work or school account.
  • Age 18 or older and location in the United States.
  • English.
  • Keep Activity enabled.

Custom MCP apps can currently be added only from Gemini Web and used within Gemini Spark tasks.

Connect with OAuth

  1. Open Gemini Web.
  2. Select Settings & help → Connected Apps.
  3. Under Custom apps for Spark, select Add a custom app.
  4. Enter:

text https://mcp.plushcap.com/mcp

  1. Continue and complete the Plushcap authorization flow.
  2. Enable Plushcap in a Gemini Spark task.

Bearer-token limitation

Gemini's documented custom-app flow supports OAuth discovery and client credentials but does not document arbitrary Bearer headers. Use OAuth on this surface. For persistent API-key authentication, use Antigravity CLI, Codex CLI, or Claude Code.

Verify

In a Spark task, ask:

Use Plushcap to monitor new developer trends and summarize notable changes.

If Custom apps for Spark is missing, the account does not currently meet the rollout or eligibility requirements.
