ChatGPT Web

ChatGPT Web can use Plushcap as a remote MCP connection. This surface supports OAuth for authenticated MCP tools, but it cannot present a customer-provided API key. Use OAuth here even though Plushcap also supports Bearer tokens.

Prerequisites

• A ChatGPT account or workspace with plugins or developer mode available.
• Permission from your workspace administrator when workspace policy requires it.
• A Plushcap account.

Connect with OAuth

1. Open ChatGPT and enable Developer mode in Settings if it is not already enabled.
2. Open the ChatGPT Plugins page and select the plus button.
3. Enter Plushcap as the name and use this public MCP endpoint:

1. Create the connection and review the discovered tools.
2. Complete the Plushcap authorization flow when ChatGPT prompts you.
3. Start a new chat and enable Plushcap from the tools or plugins menu.

For managed workspaces, an administrator may need to approve or publish the connection before other members can use it.

Why a Bearer token is not available

OpenAI's hosted plugin authentication supports OAuth for user-specific MCP access and does not allow ChatGPT to present custom API keys. Do not paste your Plushcap API key into a chat or tool argument. To use a persistent Bearer token, choose ChatGPT Desktop, Codex CLI, or another client that supports custom authorization headers.

Use Plushcap to list recent developer trend reports.

If Plushcap is not offered as a tool, verify developer-mode availability, workspace approval, and that the server URL ends in /mcp.
