Claude Web MCP Setup

Connect Claude Web to the Plushcap MCP server with OAuth.

Claude Web

Claude on the web supports remote custom MCP connectors. The direct setup uses OAuth; the documented connector interface does not expose arbitrary Bearer headers.

Connect with OAuth

For an individual Free, Pro, or Max account:

  1. Open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Select the plus button and Add custom connector.
  3. Enter Plushcap and:

text https://mcp.plushcap.com/mcp

  1. Add the connector, select Connect, and authorize Plushcap in your browser.
  2. Enable Plushcap for a conversation from the Connectors menu.

For Team and Enterprise organizations, an Owner first adds Plushcap from Organization settings → Connectors. Each member then connects individually. Connections originate from Anthropic's cloud rather than the user's browser.

Bearer-token limitation

Although the Plushcap server supports Bearer API keys, Claude Web's documented custom-connector flow does not provide a custom-header field. Use OAuth on this surface. For a stable API-key connection, use Claude Code or another Bearer-capable client.

Verify

Ask:

Use Plushcap to summarize the latest Hacker News activity for developer companies.

If Claude does not show Plushcap, check that it is connected, enabled for the conversation, and allowed by organization policy.
