Summary

ksqlDB 0.27.1 introduces enhancements for processing multi-schema Kafka topics, Protocol Buffer data, resource synchronization, aggregation syntax, and null handling. A new wildcard syntax enables dynamic selection of all fields within STRUCT values, simplifying queries against Avro or Protobuf topics containing multiple event types. The release adds the PROTOBUF_NOSR format for reading and writing raw Protobuf messages without Schema Registry, as well as Protobuf-serialized responses for REST API pull queries. New ASSERT commands can wait for Kafka topics or Schema Registry schemas to exist before dependent statements execute, reducing timing issues in scripts and migrations. Aggregate push queries can now omit GROUP BY clauses, with ksqlDB automatically applying the required grouping behavior, while fixes prevent null complex values such as maps, arrays, and structs from causing processing-log errors when their nested fields are accessed.
