Summary

ClickHouse has announced the general availability of its MySQL and MariaDB CDC connector for ClickPipes, enabling managed replication of operational database data into ClickHouse Cloud for analytical workloads. The release follows production use across hundreds of customers and more than 1 PB of transferred data, and introduces automatic parallel snapshotting that detects primary-key partitioning options, including string and UUID keys, reducing large initial loads and resyncs substantially. New production safeguards require GTID-based replication by default and at least 72 hours of binlog retention for new pipelines, improving recovery after failures and failovers compared with legacy file-position replication. Enhanced UI and Prometheus metrics provide CPU, memory, network throughput, and source, destination, and end-to-end replication lag visibility to support troubleshooting and scaling decisions. MySQL CDC ClickPipes can also be provisioned and managed through the Cloud API and Terraform version 3.14.0 or later, while billing became active on September 1, 2026 under a volume-based model with shared service compute costs.
