ClickHouse is a launch partner for the Data agent in ChatGPT Work

ClickHouse has launched a plugin for OpenAI’s ChatGPT Work Data agent and Codex, enabling users to connect ClickHouse Cloud through OAuth and analyze data using natural-language questions. The plugin combines ClickHouse’s managed Remote MCP server, which offers 13 read-only tools for exploring databases, schemas, SELECT queries, service details, ClickPipes, backups, billing, and related information, with open-source Agent Skills that guide models toward ClickHouse best practices for schema design, ingestion, and query optimization. Users and workspace administrators can install the plugin through the shared directory, provided their ChatGPT workspace supports plugins and their ClickHouse Cloud service has Remote MCP enabled. ChatGPT Work can use query results to produce reports and branded interactive dashboards while retaining access restrictions tied to the connected user’s ClickHouse Cloud permissions. The integration is positioned as part of an agentic analytics approach, with ClickHouse’s low-latency performance supporting iterative exploration of large, continuously ingested datasets and ChatGPT Work providing conversational analysis and dashboard creation.
