Introducing Spend Management

Vercel has introduced new controls to help developers manage their serverless infrastructure spend, including real-time usage alerts, SMS notifications, and project pausing capabilities. The feature aims to provide more control over usage and spend, allowing developers to set defined amounts for notifications and pause projects when necessary. This move follows customer feedback and is designed to prevent unexpected bills due to unforced errors or traffic spikes. With Spend Management, Vercel users can now receive notifications when their spend approaches or exceeds a set amount, as well as take action through webhooks to pause or resume their projects. The feature also includes safe defaults for serverless functions with higher max durations and flexible webhooks to instantly take action on real-time usage updates.
