Tailscale PAM beta: Manage connectivity and privileged access in one place

Tailscale PAM, now in beta, is a privileged access management product integrated into the Tailscale admin console that extends Tailscale’s identity-based connectivity capabilities with controls for sensitive infrastructure access. It enables administrators to deploy connectors in private environments, define individual protected services such as databases, servers, Kubernetes clusters, web applications, and RDP endpoints, and apply policies based on users, groups, permissions, and time limits. The product supports just-in-time access requests and Slack approvals to reduce standing privileges while retaining familiar tools including SSH, database clients, browsers, and Kubernetes APIs. Tailscale PAM associates sessions with authenticated identities and provides session logs and, for supported protocols, recordings to aid compliance, audits, and incident investigations. It also supports narrowly scoped, browser-based access for contractors and external users without requiring desktop client installation. Existing Border0 customers may transition to the unified Tailscale experience on their own timeline, while Tailscale plans to refine the product through beta feedback before general availability.
