CDC Pipeline: Stream Oracle Data to Snowflake
Blog post from Streamkap
Streamkap revolutionizes real-time data streaming by enabling swift data synchronization from AWS Oracle databases to Snowflake, facilitating rapid setup and efficient data pipeline construction that enhances supply chain and inventory prediction. The process involves setting up an Oracle instance in AWS, configuring it for Change Data Capture (CDC) to ensure compatibility with Streamkap, and creating a Snowflake account with the necessary permissions and roles for seamless integration. Streamkap simplifies the creation of a Snowflake warehouse, database, and schema, setting up a user with appropriate privileges, and securely connecting using RSA keys. The setup includes safelisting Streamkap's IP addresses for secure connectivity, configuring Oracle databases, and establishing user roles with essential permissions. Once configured, Streamkap supports real-time data updates with options for appending new data or updating existing records through dynamic tables in Snowflake. By linking Oracle RDS as a source and Snowflake as a destination, Streamkap enables businesses to maintain an active data pipeline, ensuring efficient data analysis and decision-making.
