Exit Offers in RevenueCat Paywalls
Blog post from RevenueCat
RevenueCat Paywalls introduces exit offers, a strategy to recapture potential users who dismiss a paywall without purchasing by presenting them with alternative offers, such as discounted plans. This approach, common in e-commerce to reduce cart abandonment, is valuable for app developers aiming to boost conversions. While integrating exit offers is straightforward on platforms like Android, where policies are more lenient, Apple's App Store has been inconsistent in allowing them due to Guideline 5.6, which prohibits manipulative practices. Although exit offers are not explicitly banned, the subjective nature of the guideline has led to some app rejections, creating uncertainty for iOS developers. RevenueCat advises caution when implementing exit offers on iOS, suggesting developers try them on Android first to evaluate their impact on conversion rates. They also strongly warn against attempting to bypass Apple's App Review process, as this could lead to severe consequences, including account termination.
