Tailor your identity verification: new controls in Plaid IDV

Plaid has introduced several updates to its Identity Verification product aimed at giving organizations more control over fraud prevention workflows, reporting, and user communication. Rule Group Escalations allows teams to use ordered risk rules, rather than only a single Trust Index threshold, to determine when verification sessions require additional review, while Pass Rate Preview uses a 30-day history of US sessions to estimate how proposed Data Source or Risk Check rule changes could affect pass rates before publication. Improved IDV Reports consolidate session data from multiple workflow templates into one customizable export, including verification, liveness, risk-check, and permission-controlled PII information, while a Customer Location Map compares document, submitted, and IP-based locations to help identify inconsistencies. Plaid also added email delivery for hosted verification links alongside SMS and a phone-call option for one-time verification codes to support users who may not easily receive or read text messages. The updates are available through the IDV dashboard and are designed to work with existing templates and workflows without requiring new integrations.
