Nylas has introduced Configurations for its Notetaker meeting-recording service, allowing applications to define global, customer-specific, and team-specific settings that are applied when a Notetaker joins a meeting. The update adds deduplication to prevent multiple recordings when participants from the same organization attend one call, customizable chat announcements and avatars, dispatch pausing for customers who reach recording quotas, and per-customer retention periods for recordings and transcripts. Configurations use the most specific available settings while inheriting unspecified values from broader defaults, and changes affect already scheduled future meetings without requiring them to be recreated. Existing request-based settings remain supported, while a simplified migration moves selected fields into a consolidated settings object without changing webhook handling. Nylas positions the features for use cases including sales, recruiting, regulated industries, and customer success, and notes its existing security and privacy certifications and assessments.
