Nylas Agent Accounts are presented as a way for an AI trial coordinator to use a dedicated, persistent email address and calendar to manage correspondence, create invitations, track responses, receive documents, and update appointments it created when approvals or contracts are delayed. This approach aims to ensure calendar changes reach all participants directly, reduce repeated confirmation letters and scheduling cycles, and preserve continuity when coordinators or monitors change roles. The accounts operate through existing Nylas Messages, Threads, Attachments, Events, and Scheduler APIs, can send from a verified customer domain, support human takeover through Outlook and IMAP, and include compliance credentials such as SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and ISO 27701. Nylas offers a free tier with three Agent Accounts and paid tiers with larger account limits for organizations managing multiple studies.

Nylas has adopted a usage-based platform pricing model that gives every account access to its Email, Calendar and Scheduler, Notetaker, and Agent Accounts products, with plans differentiated by included volume and rates rather than product restrictions. The change is intended to let developers prototype and deploy across the full API surface without early sales discussions, separate credentials, or later renegotiation when expanding to additional capabilities.
