New Relic Lens is now Generally Available

New Relic has announced the general availability of New Relic Lens, a data federation capability that lets users query and correlate observability telemetry with external business data directly from the New Relic UI using standard SQL. Lens supports connectors for sources including Snowflake, Google Sheets, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, Prometheus, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, AWS CloudWatch, and Databricks, enabling cross-database joins without duplicating or persistently ingesting raw external data. The service is intended to help engineering, product, and operations teams link system performance with outcomes such as revenue, budgets, customer usage, or support activity while avoiding additional ingestion costs and manual exports to BI tools. It also offers Iceberg-backed materialized views to improve dashboard performance and reduce repeated source-database compute costs, while on-demand queries are briefly cached for UI rendering. Lens is available to paid New Relic customers, with default access limited to organization managers and configurable through permissions or fine-grained connector access controls.
