Get more from your player analytics and Akamai CDN logs with CMCD
Blog post from Mux
In this blog, the integration of Mux Data and CMCD (Common Media Client Data) is explored to achieve end-to-end visibility in video analytics. CDN logs lack information about media characteristics or player health, while media players have a notion of playback sessions but cannot infer unique viewers or their actions. The CTA WAVE Project created the CMCD standard to convey mutually beneficial information between players, CDNs, and analytics systems. By using Mux Data with CMCD, users can join viewer logs and CDN logs for analysis that helps identify performance issues. This integration allows teams to trace session logs from player to CDN, reducing response times and support costs.
