What is Screen Pinning? Benefits and Uses of App Pinning
Blog post from Miradore
Android screen pinning is a native feature that locks a device to one application, limiting access to other apps to support focused work, privacy, secure device sharing, customer-facing workflows, demonstrations, and temporary single-purpose use. Users can enable it through Android settings, select an app from the recent-apps view, and optionally require a PIN, pattern, or password before unpinning; the unpinning method varies according to gesture, two-button, or three-button navigation. While native pinning is intended for individual devices and one app at a time, Kiosk Mode offered through mobile device management platforms such as LogMeIn Miradore provides centralized, scalable control for fleets of Android devices, including single- or multi-app restrictions, interface and system controls, configuration-profile deployment, automatic app restarting, and authenticated maintenance access.
