Introducing the Event Gateway

Hookdeck, initially a webhook management solution, has evolved into an Event Gateway platform that supports receiving, processing, and delivering events between services. An Event Gateway is deployed between external and internal services to ensure dependable event handling at scale. It offers features such as fanning out, fanning in, filtering, transformation, routing, rate limiting, observability, error recovery, verification, and handshake negotiation. The Event Gateway aims to reduce the complexity of Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), provide end-to-end event observability, ensure reliability and scalability, offer simplified security, and enable error recovery. It differs from an API gateway in its focus on asynchronous communication and handling of events beyond just webhooks.
