Spend less time on operational busywork and resolve incidents faster with Grafana Workflows
Blog post from Grafana Labs
Grafana Workflows, now in public preview for Grafana Cloud, is an automation feature designed to reduce operational overhead by turning incident response, on-call handoffs, and service-review processes into configurable workflows that integrate with tools such as Grafana Cloud IRM, Slack, and Grafana Assistant. Prebuilt blueprints can automate major-incident kickoff tasks including creating Slack channels, assigning incident commanders, sharing runbooks, paging support teams, and recording actions in incident timelines. Workflows can also use Grafana Assistant to analyze observability data, summarize evidence and hypotheses, draft customer-facing updates for review, assess customer impact, and trigger escalation steps based on defined thresholds. Additional templates support automated on-call handoff reports and weekly service-health summaries using incidents, alerts, SLOs, error budgets, and performance trends. Users can adapt templates or generate workflows through Assistant, then review them in a visual editor and test disabled workflows using run histories before enabling them.
