Grafana is undergoing a redesign of its form styles to enhance accessibility, scannability, and appeal, focusing on improving label alignment, spacing, descriptions, color schemes, and radio button groups. The initiative includes switching from left-aligned to top-aligned labels for a cleaner look, increasing space between elements, and using written descriptions instead of tooltips for better accessibility. A new blue color scheme will replace the current green for CTA buttons to improve contrast and clarity, while radio button groups are being redesigned to be more visible and accessible, especially for users with color blindness. The redesign also addresses accessibility issues by introducing clear focused states for keyboard navigation and providing helpful error messages when invalid inputs are detected. Feedback is welcomed on this still-to-be-implemented design, with discussions open on GitHub.
