Grafana 8.0 introduces a new unified alerting system that consolidates Prometheus and Grafana alerting into a single interface, enhancing the user experience for all Grafana users across different data sources, whether they utilize the open-source or Enterprise and Cloud versions. This update addresses a popular feature request, offering a streamlined process for viewing and editing alerts. To elaborate on this new system, a webinar titled "Intro to unified alerting in Grafana" is scheduled, where Engineering Director Dee Kitchen and Senior Product Manager Richard Lam will guide participants through creating and managing alerts in the updated system. This session aims to help users transition from traditional Grafana dashboard alerts and understand the improvements made, while also demonstrating how the new system simplifies managing Prometheus-style and Grafana Cloud alerts directly within Grafana.
