Introducing the new Confluent Cloud integration for Grafana Cloud

Grafana Labs has introduced a new integration for monitoring Confluent Cloud resources within Grafana Cloud, aiming to enhance observability by visualizing data streaming platform metrics. This integration allows users to connect their Confluent Cloud account to Grafana Cloud with ease, enabling the import of metrics from Kafka clusters, connectors, ksqlDB applications, and schema registries, without the need for agents or custom exporters. The integration is compatible with Prometheus metrics, ensuring long-term data retention and the ability to query using PromQL. Users can utilize a pre-built Grafana dashboard to quickly visualize and filter key metrics such as read/write rates, partition numbers, and connector activity. Setting up involves creating a Confluent Cloud API key with a MetricsViewer role, selecting resources to monitor, and configuring jobs within Grafana Cloud, after which metrics are automatically pushed to Grafana for analysis. This development is part of Grafana Labs' broader effort to expand its platform of integrations, facilitating easier connectivity and monitoring of external systems, and it provides a streamlined way to track Confluent Cloud performance.
