Introducing Grafana Enterprise Traces, joining metrics and logs in the Grafana Enterprise Stack observability solution

Grafana Enterprise Traces (GET), launched by Grafana Labs, is a new addition to the Grafana Enterprise Stack, offering a scalable, secure, self-managed distributed tracing service powered by Grafana Tempo. Designed to complement existing tools like Grafana Enterprise Metrics and Logs, GET supports multi-tenancy, robust security features, and advanced trace indexing and storage capabilities, making it particularly suitable for large enterprises and regulated industries. By leveraging Tempo's architecture, GET can handle a high volume of traces cost-effectively without traditional index reliance, allowing seamless transitions between metrics, logs, and traces through deep integrations with Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki. It also supports query federation for a global view across multiple clusters, catering to enterprises with geographically dispersed operations. While fully compatible with open-source Tempo, GET offers additional enterprise-specific features such as access controls and support services, maintaining Grafana Labs' commitment to open-source development and providing enhanced observability solutions.
