This approach, which was in private preview as of December 2024, ensures that data flows through a secure, private network, minimizing exposure to external threats and adhering to compliance standards like GDPR and HIPAA. By utilizing AWS PrivateLink, users benefit from low-latency pathways, optimizing the performance of Grafana dashboards and maintaining cost efficiency by keeping transactions within the AWS network. This feature is particularly beneficial for industries where data security and integrity are paramount, such as financial services, healthcare, and technology, as it simplifies the integration process by eliminating complex VPN configurations and reducing the risk of data interception. Although the private preview for this feature ended in August 2025, users are encouraged to adopt the PDC agent-based approach for secure data querying.
