Summary

Grafana Cloud IRM is presented as an incident-response platform that connects on-call alerting, incident management, Slack or Microsoft Teams collaboration, investigations, mobile access, and post-incident reviews through a shared incident record. Starting with enriched alert context such as affected services, dashboard data, alert history, and related alerts, teams can use Grafana Assistant in chat to identify related problems, locate dashboards, generate queries, and apply service-specific playbooks. When an incident is declared, IRM automatically creates a dedicated communication channel, Zoom call, and AI investigation, while Slack messages can be preserved on the incident timeline and tasks, roles, team paging, and status updates can be managed from the collaboration channel. The AI investigation combines observability data, incident history, and external sources such as GitHub through MCP integrations to develop and evaluate root-cause hypotheses with visible evidence. After mitigation, the accumulated timeline, findings, and sources can be used through the mobile app to generate and send a post-incident review to Confluence, reducing the need to reconstruct events from memory.
