Why Clickhouse and Agents are a Great Combo
Blog post from exe.dev
Exe developed exe-finops to make financial reporting and billing investigations easier across Stripe, app stores, cloud marketplaces, and other providers, addressing the limitations and cost of Stripe Sigma. The system collects comprehensive billing-provider webhook events through a “firehose,” stores them in ClickHouse, and lets the tool retrieve and enrich that data in a SQLite reporting layer using provider APIs when necessary. Initially created to produce monthly revenue by plan, usage-overage, and token pass-through reports through natural-language prompts, it also supports custom questions about metrics such as monthly growth and billing activity patterns. The centralized event history has additionally streamlined support investigations, enabling an agent to analyze linked customer accounts and payment events to resolve a disputed shared-payment-method case without manually searching provider dashboards.
