Supporting refugee education with SOK Foundation & UNICEF
Blog post from ElevenLabs
The SOK Foundation, in collaboration with UNICEF's Refugee Response Office in Poland, addresses the educational challenges faced by Ukrainian refugee children by equipping teachers with tools designed for classrooms affected by displacement. They developed the Dictionary of Language of School Education (JES), a bilingual Polish-Ukrainian resource that aids students in acquiring necessary language skills for daily school life. Utilizing ElevenLabs audio technology, JES employs a voice interface to introduce vocabulary through sound and visuals, followed by interactive exercises, reducing the need for memorization and supporting language acquisition under stress. Since 2022, SOK has trained over 5,500 educators and reached more than 100,000 children, combining language learning with psychosocial skill development in high-pressure environments. This partnership highlights the effective use of voice technology to enhance educational outcomes in crisis settings.
