Generative AI for Good brings survivor testimony to the UN

The partnership between ElevenLabs and Generative AI for Good, introduced at the United Nations in Geneva, focuses on the "Hearing Their Voices" initiative, which aims to empower survivors of conflict-related sexual violence to safely share their stories using anonymized AI-generated voices. This initiative, co-hosted by Shiran Mlamdovsky-Somech and Tatiana Kotlyarenko and co-organized by UNITAR and the Kigali Genocide Memorial, seeks to address the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of AI, conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV), and peace-building. By providing ElevenLabs voice technology at no cost, the program ensures that survivors' testimonies maintain their emotional weight and clarity while protecting their identities, thus supporting documentation and survivor-led narratives in a secure manner. This effort aligns with the ElevenLabs Impact Program's mission to aid nonprofit organizations in enhancing communication and preserving identity, offering a model for ethical AI use in human rights and peace-building.
