Elastic Enterprise Search 8.7 introduces a range of new features aimed at enhancing content ingestion and search experiences, including advanced filtering for the MySQL connector, which allows for more efficient data ingestion from large MySQL databases. The release also upgrades the Elastic Web Crawler with customizable content extraction and programmatic scheduling, enabling precise data extraction from web pages and flexible crawl scheduling. The connector framework has reached beta, supporting popular databases like Postgres, Oracle, and MS SQL, as well as cloud storage formats on GCP and Azure, allowing for customized data source connections using languages like Python. Additionally, the new web and search analytics client helps capture and analyze user behavior to optimize search relevance and website performance. The release is available on Elastic Cloud and for self-managed experiences via Elastic Stack and cloud orchestration tools.
