5 insights from public sector leaders: Solving organizational challenges with data and AI

Public sector leaders are increasingly turning to AI and generative AI to address the challenges of becoming data-driven organizations, although only 32% currently leverage data insights for daily decision-making. Despite aspirations to use data effectively, many organizations struggle with data silos, inadequate tools, and the inability to efficiently analyze and use data in real-time. A survey of over 1,000 global C-suite, business, and technology leaders, including nearly 200 from the public sector, revealed that while 76% believe their organizations are advanced in data analytics, their data maturity assessments suggest significant room for improvement. AI and generative AI are seen as key to overcoming these hurdles, with potential benefits including improved productivity, operational resilience, and cost reduction, though adoption remains cautious due to regulatory and privacy concerns. The report highlights the importance of automation in workflows and data management as crucial steps toward leveraging these technologies for enhanced efficiency and innovation.
