Dragonfly Cloud outperforms AWS ElastiCache in terms of throughput, latency, and cost-efficiency, offering significantly more value per dollar. In benchmarks comparing the two under identical conditions, Dragonfly Cloud demonstrated 81% higher value per dollar for storage, 193% higher write throughput, and 40% higher read throughput, while also maintaining 43% lower P99 latency. The architectural innovations of Dragonfly, such as its multi-threaded shared-nothing design and innovative data structures like Dashtable, allow it to achieve greater efficiency with multi-core processors, in contrast to ElastiCache's single-threaded approach. Despite having a smaller instance memory, Dragonfly's system enables it to store 42% more keys than ElastiCache, enhancing its cost efficiency. While ElastiCache remains an established choice for AWS users due to its seamless integration within the AWS ecosystem, Dragonfly Cloud offers a compelling alternative with superior performance and lower costs, making it an attractive option for data-intensive workloads.
