Meet Sharmey Shah, Our Confluent Champion for AAPI Heritage Month

Sharmey Shah, Area Vice President of Enterprise Sales for Confluent’s Americas Northeast region, joined the company about 15 months earlier to return to open-source innovation after seeing Apache Kafka’s emerging impact during her time at Red Hat. She leads account executives and sales directors while overseeing regional operations, collaborating across marketing, product management, engineering, and legal to improve customer engagement and support real-time data initiatives. Her team was the first in Confluent’s enterprise sales organization to adopt an industry segmentation model intended to make solutions more relevant to customer business needs. Shah describes Confluent as collaborative and participatory, credits its senior leadership as a key reason for joining, and sees an opportunity to make streaming data technology more relatable by illustrating its practical effects through examples such as Instacart’s real-time inventory capabilities.
