Coder Brings Claude Code to Agent Relay, Unlocking Agentic Development for the World’s Most Regulated Enterprises
Blog post from Coder
Coder has introduced early-access support for Anthropic’s Claude Code through Agent Relay, allowing enterprises to run coding agents in sandboxed, auditable Coder workspaces hosted in their own cloud, VPC, or on-premises infrastructure. Anthropic continues to provide the agent loop, inference, account administration, and billing, while customer-controlled environments retain source code, credentials, internal-service access, network egress controls, and detailed audit records. The integration is aimed particularly at financial services and other regulated industries whose security and compliance requirements have limited adoption of externally hosted autonomous agents. Each Claude Code session operates in an ephemeral workspace with environment-level network and data-source policies, and teams can enforce and log process-level network activity. Coder launched Agent Relay with Cursor as its first provider on September 2 and plans to support additional self-hosted cloud-agent providers over time.
