Summary

ClickStack’s August update, spanning versions 2.34 through 2.38, centers on dashboard improvements, expanded Prometheus support, alerting enhancements, and observability tooling. Dashboard variables are now generally available, allowing filters to be inserted into SQL, Lucene, and PromQL queries, including dependent filters and cross-source mappings, while chart formulas enable calculations such as rates and ratios directly in visualizations. New dashboard capabilities include a metrics explorer, deployment release markers, static and PromQL label-based filters, query replay in Search, customizable PromQL legends, and heatmap percentile tooltips. ClickStack also introduced experimental TimeSeries storage and PromQL querying for Prometheus workloads, a beta LLM observability dashboard for tracing model usage, token consumption, latency, and errors, and OIDC authentication for the standalone telemetry collector. Alerting now supports up to ten notification targets, custom names and tags, detailed evaluation histories, and richer webhook payloads. MCP server additions help agents detect emerging log patterns, validate multiple dashboard tiles at once, favor builder tools over raw SQL, and distinguish read-only from modifying operations, while trace navigation now supports span links in both directions.
