Announcing ClickHouse Managed Postgres on Google Cloud
Blog post from ClickHouse
ClickHouse Managed Postgres is now available in private preview on Google Cloud, extending the NVMe-backed managed PostgreSQL service previously launched on AWS to GCP environments. The service combines PostgreSQL for transactional workloads with ClickHouse for analytics through in-region change data capture replication via ClickPipes and a unified query layer provided by the pg_clickhouse extension, allowing applications to access both systems through one PostgreSQL connection. Running PostgreSQL on GCP Local SSD aims to reduce disk latency and improve performance for update-heavy, vacuum-intensive, and high-load workloads, while managed features include high availability across zones, backups and point-in-time recovery, read replicas, PgBouncer pooling, extensions, monitoring, and scheduled upgrades. Customers can provision services through APIs, Terraform, or the ClickHouse CLI, and can migrate from Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, AWS services, or self-managed PostgreSQL using continuous replication and controlled cutovers. Access is invitation-only during the preview, available across GCP regions supported by ClickHouse Cloud, while the AWS version remains in public beta.
