Summary

ChaosSearch is a fully managed service for searching, finding, introspecting, and interrogating historical log and event data stored in Amazon S3 or Google Cloud Storage. It extends the Elasticsearch API and Kibana onto cloud object storage, cost-effectively opening up access to terabytes of log and event data. ChaosSearch addresses the explosion in log and event data generated by applications and devices, providing a new approach with innovative technology that manages the tsunami of data being generated today. The service is based on cloud object storage, decouples storage from compute, and uses a patented indexing technology called the Chaos Index, which reduces the size of information while fully indexing it. It also features a new way to prepare data for analysis, a new distributed architecture, high performance and low cost, and an elastic and massively scalable design. By leveraging S3/GCS cost economics and ease of use, ChaosSearch turns cloud object storage into a live, searchable log management solution that provides "live" access to terabytes and petabytes of data over months and years.
