Data ingestion speed and size on disk are crucial factors for log analytics solutions like Elastic, Redshift, and CHAOSSEARCH/Data Edge. In this performance comparison series, we benchmarked these technologies against each other, focusing on data ingestion speed and size on disk. Amazon Redshift outperformed Elasticsearch in terms of ingestion speed, but at the cost of larger storage requirements and slower text search capabilities. Data Edge, a new technology developed by CHAOSSEARCH, surprised everyone with its exceptional performance, achieving faster ingestion speeds than both Redshift and Elasticsearch while maintaining smaller storage requirements. Data Edge's unique data representation, called Data Edge, enables it to efficiently handle large amounts of data without sacrificing performance or scalability. The comparison highlights the importance of considering different use cases and system design patterns when evaluating log analytics solutions.
