Summary

Chameleon’s Compass is an AI-powered user intelligence feature that uses the existing Chameleon snippet to analyze product usage without requiring event tagging, SDK changes, or a connected CDP. It generates user and account summaries, tracks sessions, identifies and ranks product friction by severity and affected users, maps feature adoption, and shares findings with Copilot to create segments, in-app guidance, or engineering tickets, including through Linear. Profile summaries are enabled by default, while session summaries and friction detection require an administrator to enable Sessions Summaries; meaningful friction insights typically require about a week of data and at least 100 active users. Profile summaries cost one AI credit per refresh and session summaries cost two credits per session, while session tracking, feature mapping, friction ranking, and Copilot use are free, although new friction findings depend on paid summaries. Compass does not record typed text or passwords, does not train AI models on customer data, allows administrators to control data collection through AI Controls, and is available to AI-enabled Pro, Growth, and Enterprise customers, with new trial users receiving 10,000 credits.
