Summary

CData has introduced drivers and connectors for Databricks Lakebase, a fully managed, PostgreSQL-compatible database that adds OLTP capabilities to the Databricks Lakehouse and supports querying both native and federated external data. The new tools provide live, bidirectional access to Lakebase through standard SQL, OAuth authentication, SQL-92 querying, and compatibility with more than 200 BI, analytics, reporting, AI, integration, and development platforms. Available options include JDBC, ODBC, ADO.NET, MCP Server, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Python, and PowerShell support, with CData Sync and Connect AI planned for future release. The connectors map a broad range of PostgreSQL and Lakebase data types into CData schemas and can be used to create Power BI reports by installing the Lakebase connector, configuring an OAuth-based DSN, selecting the connection in Power BI, and visualizing imported data.
