From Jobs to Workflows: Why Data Teams Needed Pipelines in CData Sync
Blog post from CData
CData Sync’s new Pipelines feature addresses the gap between basic data replication tools and complex general-purpose orchestration platforms by providing built-in coordination for end-to-end data movement workflows. Pipelines lets teams define and track workflows that combine ingestion, transformations, reverse ETL, and events, including execution order, failure handling, skipped steps, and conditional downstream processing based on data changes. In a sales operations example, Salesforce and SQL Server data can be ingested, transformed into revenue metrics, sent back to Salesforce, and logged through one unified pipeline execution rather than relying on external schedulers or custom glue code. The feature provides centralized run histories with step-level status, duration, and outcomes, improving troubleshooting, auditing, compute efficiency, and operational visibility while avoiding additional infrastructure and tool ownership. Pipelines is included in the CData Sync Q1 2026 release.
