Announcing Blacksmith’s Series B led by Peak XV Partners
Blog post from Blacksmith
Blacksmith announced a $45 million Series B financing led by Peak XV, with existing investors Y Combinator and GV increasing their support, valuing the company at $550 million in a round completed in March 2026. The company says adoption of AI coding tools, particularly following the release of Claude Opus 4.5, has sharply increased software output and CI demand, with jobs on its platform growing 5–10% weekly and customers reporting major increases in pull-request volume and infrastructure strain. More than 6,000 companies, including Supabase, Clerk, Ashby, and Mercury, now use Blacksmith’s CI platform. Building on its original focus on high-performance CI infrastructure, Blacksmith is expanding into tools designed to validate and merge code faster, including its code[smith] cloud coding agent, which can build features, fix bugs, diagnose CI failures, and help maintain pull-request health, as well as a planned autonomous QA product. The new funding will primarily support a substantial expansion of its compute capacity, currently measured in hundreds of thousands of cores, and the company is hiring in New York City and San Francisco.
