Summary

We are collaborating with our friends at Starschema to showcase an example of using Algolia in combination with MongoDB. Our goal is to demonstrate how to integrate a third-party indexing system into the product while prioritizing data consistency, security, and scalability. We are addressing potential challenges such as keeping the Algolia index up-to-date with the main database, ensuring security and access control, and avoiding increased server costs due to higher traffic on our servers. Our architecture diagram will be updated to reflect the integration of Algolia, and we will implement a data pipeline and frontend solution in subsequent articles. We are using MongoDB's Sample AirBnB Listings Dataset for testing purposes, with a free Algolia account and MongoDB Atlas hosting our sample database.
