Our journey integrating Qdrant in Zerops
Blog post from Zerops
Vector databases, particularly Qdrant, are transforming data management in AI applications by offering enhanced performance and reliability through a structured architecture of collections and shards. Zerops has integrated Qdrant to address the complexities of deploying and managing production-ready vector databases, offering both high availability (HA) and non-HA modes to suit different project needs. In non-HA mode, a single Qdrant node is used, simplifying installation and management for non-critical projects, while HA mode involves setting up a cluster with multiple nodes for enhanced reliability and data availability. Zerops has streamlined HA cluster configuration, utilizing the RAFT protocol for high availability and automatic replication to prevent data loss. The integration process has overcome various technical challenges with the help of Qdrant's robust REST and gRPC APIs. Zerops ensures data safety through comprehensive backup solutions, offering automatic encrypted backups stored in S3-compatible storage with flexible retention policies. By providing a managed Qdrant solution, Zerops allows users to focus on AI development without the operational complexities of vector database management.
