Introducing Theme Builder

Theme Builder is a visual editor designed for creating and customizing themes for the Zed code editor, eliminating the need for manual JSON file editing. It allows users to instantly see changes in a live preview as they adjust color tokens across 16 UI categories, 10 syntax color categories, and multiplayer collaboration elements. The system addresses the complexity of modern editor theming by offering features such as an interactive inspector to identify which tokens control specific elements, color linking to maintain consistency across related elements, and pixel-perfect syntax highlighting via Tree-sitter. Theme Builder also supports importing existing themes and exporting creations as theme overrides or extensions, offering a seamless and intuitive way to craft personalized editor aesthetics.
