Map nested data in Zaps with enhanced field mapping
Blog post from Zapier
Zapier’s enhanced field mapping feature lets users view API, webhook, and AI-step data as nested objects, arrays, and typed fields rather than a single flattened list, making it easier to locate and select the correct values in the Zap editor. Enabled from an action step’s Configure tab through the field mapping dropdown, the optional toggle displays previous-step data in an expandable tree and can be turned off to restore the classic view. Users can map individual values, complete objects or arrays, or all values within an array as line items, potentially avoiding a separate Formatter step. Type icons identify objects, text, and arrays, and the feature is available on all Zapier plans while leaving published Zaps’ existing behavior unchanged.
