How to turn a website into an app
Blog post from Zapier
Turning websites into standalone applications can enhance productivity by reducing browser clutter and streamlining access to frequently used sites. This can be achieved in browsers like Chrome, Safari, and Microsoft Edge, each offering user-friendly methods to install web apps with their own dedicated windows and icons. In Chrome, users can create an app via the menu's "Install" option, which places the app in the Start menu or Dock for easy access. Safari users can add sites to their Dock, customizing icons and names, while Edge offers a similar "Install" feature for dedicated app windows. Although Firefox no longer natively supports this feature, a workaround involves using the FireSSB extension to manually create apps. This process effectively transforms websites into apps, providing a cleaner and more organized approach to web navigation.
