How to blur your background in Zoom—and the case for not doing it
Blog post from Zapier
The background blur feature on Zoom allows users to conceal their surroundings, but it can also prevent meaningful interactions and connections with remote coworkers. To turn on the blur, click on the profile icon, select Settings, and choose Blur from the Background & Effects menu. Alternatively, a quick blur option is available during meetings by clicking on the "Stop video" or "Start video" caret next to the video button. The feature can also be accessed through the Zoom app on mobile devices. However, it's recommended to keep the background visible as it allows users to get to know their remote colleagues better and can lead to interesting conversations and discoveries.
