Why Zapier created a policy to support global mobility

At Zapier, we've formalized a global mobility policy to support our globally distributed team of over 800 members across 40 countries, offering flexibility in work arrangements for short- and long-term moves, while maintaining expectations for roles. This policy aims to normalize having team members decide where and when they work, by setting clear guidelines around mobility, creating strong hiring practices that prioritize skills necessary for remote environments, setting attainable goals, embracing asynchronous communication and work, encouraging formal flexibility, and linking these policies with company-wide norms to ensure a seamless experience for all Zapier teammates.
