Gemini connected apps: How to connect Gemini to other apps

Google Gemini connected apps are native integrations that give the AI authenticated access to Google and third-party services, allowing it to search personal context such as email and calendars or take actions such as creating Canva designs, editing Wix sites, finding tickets, booking travel, and arranging appointments. Although Gemini currently has fewer third-party integrations than competing MCP-based ecosystems, Google’s large device footprint and Gemini’s accessibility could introduce agentic AI actions to many mainstream users. Apps can be enabled through Gemini’s Connected Apps settings, with third-party services requiring individual authentication and all connections requiring the Keep Activity setting to remain enabled. Connected apps work in Gemini’s web and mobile apps, in Chrome for certain Google services, and in the more autonomous Gemini Spark agent, which can manage multistep tasks while requesting confirmation for sensitive actions. Spark also supports MCP connections, including Zapier MCP’s network of more than 9,000 apps, but access is limited to paid Google AI plans and requires users to supervise external MCP servers. Availability varies by region, and users can disconnect services through settings, though Gemini’s consumer version otherwise limits integrations to those Google makes available.
