How bad idea brainstorms have helped me get braver—and better—at work

I've had good ideas about improving my business, but when feeling uninspired in 2021, I turned to bad idea brainstorming sessions instead. This process involves generating as many bad ideas as possible without pressure or expectation, which can help spark creativity and lead to better ideas. By doing so, I was able to come up with some good ideas that have improved my business, such as taking a cold plunge once a week for physical re-energization, taking tap dancing lessons to embrace incompetence, and delegating more tasks to others. These experiences have shown me the value of embracing bad ideas and being open to new perspectives and challenges.
