Zama Partners with OpenZeppelin to Bring Confidential Smart Contracts to DeFi and Digital Assets
Blog post from Zama
Zama's mission to establish a confidentiality layer for blockchains is taking a significant leap forward through a partnership with OpenZeppelin, aimed at integrating Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) to enable confidential smart contracts on Web3. This collaboration seeks to create a secure, scalable mainnet that caters to the needs of financial institutions by developing open-source standards for confidential tokens, akin to the ERC20 standard but with encrypted balances and private execution. The partnership has led to the formation of the Confidential Token Association, alongside Inco Network, to advance the Confidential Token Standard, thereby facilitating the institutional adoption of blockchain technology by embedding privacy as a fundamental feature. Zama and OpenZeppelin's work promises to unlock new applications in the digitization of public infrastructure and traditional finance by ensuring transaction confidentiality and data protection, transforming the landscape of blockchain by making privacy the default setting.
